Previous amendments to the
Agricultural Operations Regulation - 2010
On May 20, 2009, a draft regulation amending the Agricultural Operations
Regulation was published in the Gazette officielle du Québec.
Following a period of public consultations, the regulation was amended with
a view to improving comprehension and application of the proposed measures.
On July 7, 2010, Cabinet adopted the draft regulation amending the
Agricultural Operations Regulation and it came into force on August 5, 2010.
Highlights of these amendments
- New conditions for solid manure storage in piles in a cultivated
field.
- The possibility of using tank spreader with a simple splash plate to
spread liquid manure from a low height above the ground in dairy or beef
cattle operations (except for veal calf waste).
- The obligation for a spreading site to have parcels of land under
cultivation as required for the purpose of spreading fertilizing
materials.
- New obligations with respect to the characterization of livestock
waste.
- The obligation to have soil and manure analysis performed by an
accredited laboratory.
- Changes to certain
Phosphorus Report application rules.
- Clarifications concerning project notice submissions and
applications for authorization certificates.
- Clarification with respect to crop cultivation in degraded
watersheds.
- Extension of the conservation period for required documents.
