Draft Regulation respecting the recovery and reclamation of products by enterprisesThe Regulation in briefThe regulation provides that companies must implement a recovery and reclamation program for products they sell that complies with the regulatory requirements within the prescribed period and forward the program information to the Minister. Companies must also set up drop-off points in numbers and of types provided for in the regulation, where all types of products similar to the ones they market can be left without charge for recovery or, in some case, provide collection services for these products. Additionally, companies are required to submit an annual on their program's compliance with the regulation, including a program performance assessment reports to the Minister. Programs must achieve annual recovery rates for target products as provided in the regulation. Companies in default will be required to pay an amount to the Green Fund, based on the difference between the prescribed and achieved rates. |
