Québec Energy Strategy 2006-2015
In May 2006, the Government of Québec unveiled its Québec Energy Strategy 2006-2015 entitled To Build the Québec of Tomorrow. This strategy, based on the development of renewable energy (hydroelectricity, wind and biomass), targets a more efficient use of all forms of energy.
2007-2010 Energy Efficiency and New Technology Master Plan
The energy efficiency master plan will translate the government’s global energy efficiency vision and assure coherent and fruitful action for all forms of energy. The government is accentuating energy efficiency in the petroleum sector since it is here that Québec can realize the most significant gains in energy origin greenhouse gas emissions and reduce the costs of imported energy. A new feature of the plan involves setting an energy savings target in the petroleum products sector of two million tons of equivalent gasoline by 2015.

A development strategy for Quebec's environmental and green technology industry
The
Development strategy for Quebec's environmental and green technology industry aims at bringing together economic development and environmental objectives and to make green industry a searchlight industry with international reach, based on innovation. In June 2006, the Ministère des Transports unveiled its Québec Public Transit Policy. This policy offers better choices for citizens in viable alternatives to single passenger automobile use and is complementary in nature to the 2006–2012 Climate Change Action Plan. Five of the seven programs of the policy are in fact financed through the Green Fund. The following two programs are also part of the Québec Public Transit Policy.
- A government assistance program for public transport of people (PAGTCP)
- A capital expenditures assistance program from the Société de financement des infrastructures locales du Québec (SOFIL)
These assistance programs were set up by the Government of Québec in order to provide financial support to Public Transport enterprises, l’Agence métropolitaine de transport and Québec municipalities that offer public transport services to their populations.
SOFIL financial assistance applies to public transport capital expenditures for grant-receiving organizations, while in the case of PAGTCP funding, government participation extends to public transport services operated by municipal and inter-city transport groups.
